Centro Kades

I Myself will feed My flock and I Myself will lead them to rest,” declares the Lord God. “I will seek the
lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick…

Centro Kades is a facility that welcomes people with problems of addiction.

Centro Kades was founded at the end of the 1970s to offer a community pathway for the rehabilitation
of young people enslaved to heroin. Subsequently, other addictions have also become increasingly prevalent, including alcohol, cocaine, crack, ecstasy, amphetamines, cannabinoids, psychotropic drugs, and the phenomenon of poly consumption, up to the most recent addictions without substances or behavioral ones, preeminently Pathological Gambling.

What helped us to reorganize the community pathway to face the various challenges was that, while recognizing the specificity of each addiction, the rehabilitation of Centro Kades Center has always placed the person with his needs and the spiritual strength of the Gospel at the center of its intervention.

At the basis of the methodology of Centro Kades is an educational approach based on the transmission of evangelical principles and an intervention strategy that aims to help the person rediscover and develop greater autonomy in making decisions to free him from compulsive and self-destructive behavioral habits. To achieve new freedom and responsibility, participation in social and emotional life, motivation, and personal commitment are essential.

In general, together with the local community services, Centro Kades seeks to respond to the various needs coming from different life stories, evaluating the possibility of hosting those subjects (with existential, psychological and social problems…) who feel the need to be supported to go through a difficult moment in their lives with the strength of the Gospel, starting from the assumption that “… God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” (Acts 10:34-35).
